Night guard thickness, layers and sizing

Specify measured thickness, construction, sizes, kit contents and fitting instructions for the exact reference. Compare the sample with the agreed specification before printing product information.

Start with the specification. Request the thickness, measurement locations and construction for the selected reference. A thin, medium or thick label is not a measure of suitability for an individual wearer; agree the intended users and product claims with your qualified adviser.

The thickness specification

Specify	Record for the order
Thickness	Measured value, measurement locations and whether the sample was measured before or after fitting.
Construction	Material and layer structure for the exact reference.
Sizes and contents	The dimensions, tray count and case or other components supplied.
Instructions	The matching revision for fitting, trimming, cleaning and warnings.

Single or dual layer

Ask whether the selected reference has one layer or a specified combination of layers, and request the material and thickness of each layer and the matching fitting instructions; do not transfer a soak time from another construction. The materials guide sets out the material questions.

Handle, no handle, double-sided

With handle. XMD-NGD-007 and XMD-NGD-013 come with a fitting handle; follow the matching instructions for its use or removal.
Without handle. XMD-NGD-012 is supplied without a handle; use the fitting instructions for that form.
Double-sided. Ask for the channel arrangement and the instructions specific to that reference.

Trimmable ends

Ask whether the exact reference is trimmable and whether it has a trim line. Use only the trimming instructions supplied for that reference.

Sizes and sets

The range includes large and small trays (XMD-NGD-010), adult and youth sizes (XMD-NGD-003) and sets of four or eight with a case (XMD-NGD-006). Each reference lists its sizes, guards, case and other components, and your quotation states any pack change.

Print the documented dimensions, construction, kit contents and the controlled instructions for the exact product. Have intended use, intended users and claims assessed together.
